Waiting for Divisioning Game
Basketball: Thomas Brownsword (Folkestone, Kent); George Dunkerley (Redcar, North Yorkshire); Lewis Johnson (Mexborough, South Yorkshire); Daniel Large (Hoddesdon, Herts); Ben O’Brien (Bromsgrove,Worcestershire); Shaun Smith (Ormesby, North Yorkshire); Chris Southwell (Oakham, Rutland); Stuart Tipp (Eston, North Yorkshire); Alex Thompson (Sheffield, Yorkshire and Humberside); Niall Guite (Sheffield, Yorkshire & Humberside).

Jazz, Head Coach, said Today we played 5 divisioning games. Our first on the Exhibition Court we lost 8-10 to New Zealand but the lads played exceptionally well given the intensity of the show court environment! We went on to lose the next two games before a bye round where we got together as a team and composed before going on to win against Portugal and Italy!! Overall a really good day. We find out tomorrow the schedule for the competition days.

Unified Football
Unified Football: Scott Nicoll (Head Coach). Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. The principle is that by training together and playing together, it is a quick path to inclusivity, friendship and understanding.

John Beckett (Mansewood, Glasgow); Jack Bell (Edinburgh, Scotland); Alistair Gillies (Letham, Perth); Steven Johnson (Saltburn, Cleveland, North Yorkshire); Daniel McCleary (Methven, Perth, Scotland); James Parker (Knaresborough, North Yorkshire); Darren McCluskey (Knightswood, Glasgow); Stewart Robertson - Unified Partner (Meigle, Perth and Kinross); Freddie Sherwood – Unified Partner (East Herts, Eastern); Mitchell Presland – Unified Partner (East Herts, Eastern); Lee McLean – Unified Partner (Forfar, Tayside); Joseph van ’t Hoff - Unified Partner (Edinburgh, Lothian).

The players were excited to get started and their first game was against Slovakia. The team were narrowly beaten 1-0 in their first divisioning game against a good Slovakia side. All the boys gave 100% effort and worked hard for each other. Jack Bell was the stand out in GB’s goal and kept his team in the game with some great saves. They are looking forward to games tomorrow against Germany and Sweden.
Tennis: Laura Campbell (Haxby, York); Lucy Porteous (Kelso, Scotland); Oliver Beadle (Upminster, Essex); Aiden Leighton (Leicester, Leicestershire).

Oliver Beadle
Mixed pairings of Olly Beadle & Laura Campbell (Level 5) and Aiden Leighton & Lucy Porteous (Level 4) will both play their first round matches at 11am on Wednesday.
Unified Football
A comfortable 5-0 win for the boys against Bharat and keeps them in great form. #TEAMSOGB took to the field in their second game of competition. The game started at a high pace and the team pressed Bharat and forced them to make mistakes. They took the lead threw Alastair Gillies and a second followed soon by Steven Johnson. Freddie helped link the defence and attack in the centre midfield role brilliantly. Two more goals followed by Mitchell Presland and Alistair’s second of the match. Goal of the game was the 5th which came from Steven Johnson's wonderful solo run. Each and every player gave 100% and limited Bharat’s play to long balls. Their work rate was excellent and had a well-deserved rest this afternoon. Freddie Sherwood was the man of the match with his energetic performance. A great birthday present for Coach Benji Evans who turns 34 today.

Really good day in the basketball camp! Started the day with a 34-25 win over Latvia. All ten athletes played really well, especially when running the full court press! The rest of the day was spent celebrating with a trip to Long Beach and out for lunch! Early nights all round in preparation for tomorrow's game at 3.15 vs Italy!!

World Cup Final
Special Olympics GB are through to the World Cup Final in Los Angeles tomorrow at 10.00am (LA time – Friday, Balboa, Encino, LA). They secured their place with a single goal win against Austria – their third straight win in the group stage. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. #TEAMSOGB

Darren McCluskey from Glasgow fired home from close range when he got on the end of a cross from the left from Mitchell Presland in order to set up a showpiece occasion.
Basketball Final
Now this is some achievement against very tough opposition. #TEAMSOGB has secured their place in Friday's gold medal game with a 21-19 win over China. With 10.1 seconds on the clock, tied at 19, George sank two free throws resulting in team GB winning the group!

Fantastic game, though a little too close for the coaching staff and spectators - but the guys played their socks off. Jazz is beaming and a very proud coach! The big tip-off is 4.30 pm LA time.
Tennis Final
Men's Singles first round started today. Olly beat Jeffrey Scott (USA) 6-0 6-0 in the Men's Level 5+ and Aiden had a really tense and close match beating Ahsan Anwar (Pakistan) 5-4 5-4 in the Men's Level 4 (Olly does play to 6 games while others only play short sets).

This puts both players through to the final to play for the gold or silver medals on Saturday. Aiden will play at 9am and Olly at 10am.

The day finished with the Doubles Medal ceremony when Olly & Laura and Aiden & Lucy received their gold medals for winning their Mixed doubles divisions yesterday.
